Penampilan Fisik

Dr. Joyce Brothers, seorang psikolog terkenal di Amerika, diam-diam pernah melakukan observasi di sebuah Taman Kanak-kanak. Hasil observasinya menunjukkan bahwa para guru cenderung bersikap lebih baik dan lebih sabar kepada anak-anak yang secara fisik lucu, cakep, dan menarik. Begitu juga para murid, mereka lebih cenderung mendekati temannya yang secara lahiriah menarik. Sedangkan anak-anak yang tidak menarik, cenderung dijauhi. Bahkan, kerap dianggap sebagai pembawa masalah. Begitulah umumnya orang, cenderung lebih terfokus pada tampilan lahiriah, mengukur sesama hanya dari sisi jasmaniah. Seperti juga Samuel ketika datang ke rumah Isai atas perintah Tuhan untuk mengurapi calon raja Israel pengganti Saul (ayat 1). Waktu melihat Eliab, salah seorang anak Isai, Samuel langsung terpikat dengan paras dan perawakannya yang tinggi (ayat 6,7). Akan tetapi, Tuhan tidak demikian. Penampilan jasmaniah, bukan itu yang Tuhan lihat. Firman-Nya, “Bukan yang dilihat manusia yang dilihat Allah; manusia melihat apa yang di depan mata, tetapi Tuhan melihat hati” (ayat 7). Maka, kalau kita tidak memiliki penampilan lahiriah secakep atau semenarik orang lain, jangan kecil hati atau rendah diri. Sebab, Tuhan tidak melihat hal-hal lahiriah dari kita. Tuhan melihat hati. Sebaliknya, kalau kita dikaruniai penampilan fisik yang elok dan menawan, jangan sombong. Sebab, bukan itu ukuran kualitas atau nilai kita di hadapan Tuhan. Tuhan tidak akan memperlakukan kita secara istimewa hanya karena kita memiliki wajah rupawan dan tubuh atletis. Keindahan batiniah jauh lebih bernilai daripada keindahan jasmaniah

Jadwal yang disarankan untuk meminum dua liter air setiap hari :
30 menit sebelum makan pagi : 1 gelas

Perasaan-perasaan mematikan berpengaruh terhadap kesehatan tubuh kita.

Dampak-dampak dari perasaan-perasaan mematikan yang tidak pernah terpikir oleh kita sebelumnya adalah :

Dr. Robert Eliot, seorang ahli kardiologi ternama, menemukan bahwa ketika "para pereaksi panas" itu memendam perasaan-perasaan mereka, itu pada akhirnya berubah menjadi permusuhan dan kemarahan. Ketika itu terjadi, tekanan darah meningkat tajam, resiko serangan jantung dan stroke akan lebih tinggi. Maka, lepaskan kemarahan dan mintalah pengampunan, jangan menyimpan kemarahan sampai matahari terbenam.

KEBENCIAN dan IRI HATI, dapat menyebabkan :
-Tekanan darah tinggi
-Sakit kepala migran
-Penyakit jantung
-Tukak lambung
-Kanker.

Ketika seseorang mengalami kemarahan yang berlebihan, kekhawatiran dan stress yang diakibatkan oleh kebencian, tingkat adrenalinnya meningkat, tekanan darah juga meningkat dan dengan begitu jantung-khususnya serangan jantung- bertambah bagi mereka yang hidup dalam kemarahan. Orang-orang itu menghadapi resiko penyakit jantung dua kali lebih tinggi dibanding orang
lain. Sebagai tambahan, ketika seseorang mengalami kekecewaan, kemarahan atau ketakutan saat makan, perasaan-perasaan negatif ini merangsang system saraf simpatiknya, yang pada gilirannya menyebabkan berkurangnya pengeluaran enzim-enzim pancreas, yang menciptakan kesulitan dalam pencernaan makanan. Ini menyebabkan perut kembung, adanya gas, sakit ulu hati, dan masalah pencernaan lainnya. Stress yang berlebihan yang disebabkan oleh perasaan-perasaan negatif cukup berbahaya karena itu meningkatkan tingkat kortisol kita, yang kemudian menekan system kekebalan tubuh kita. Ketika system kekebalan kita tertekan, sel kanker mulai terbentuk dan berkembang.

Kebencian dan iri hati merupakan perasaan-perasaan yang merusak.

KESOMBONGAN, dapat menyebabkan :
-Penyakit mental
-Stroke
-Serangan jantung
-Kematian

Menurut pandangan saya, perasaan yang paling mematikan adalah kesombongan. Kerendahan hati dan ucapan syukur kepada Pencipta akan melindungi anda dari perasaan yang paling mematikan - kesombongan.

KETAKUTAN dan KEKHAWATIRAN, dapat menyebabkan :
-Penyakit jantung
-Penyakit mental
-Kepanikan
-Depresi
-Serangan jantung
-Fobia.

Tubuh anda bisa menanggapi ketakutan dan kekhawatiran dengan memicu pelepasan hormon adrenalin secara berlebihan, yang menyebabkan percepatan denyut jantung, penigkatan ventilasi paru yang abnormal, telapak tangan berkeringat, dan meningkatnya kontraksi system pencernaan. Ketakutan dan kekhawatiran yang berkesinambungan dapat menyebabkan keadaan peningkatan
ini terjadi terlalu lama, dan dapat menyebabkan kelelahan adrenalin, kelelahan, kegelisahan dan kepanikan, gejala sulit buang air besar dan sakit kepala karena ketegangan. Kelelahan fisik dan emosional dan kelemahan system kekebalan tubuh anda dapat terjadi, dan hasil akhirnya adalah penyakit.

DEPRESI, dapat menyebabkan :
-Kanker

Penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa pria memiliki kecenderungan untuk melepaskan kemarahan mereka, sementara wanita cenderung menyembunyikannya.

Adalah benar bahwa kanker dapat menyerang semua orang, tetapi salah satu factor yang paling umum yang ditemukan para peneliti sebelum kanker menyerang adalah 'kurangnya penyaluran emosi'. Ibu rumah tangga memiliki peluang 54% lebih besar terkena kanker dibanding populasi pada umumnya dan 157% lebih besar dibanding dengan para wanita yang bekerja di luar rumah.

Langkah-langkah untuk mengembangkan hati yang gembira untuk menghasilkan kesehatan yang baik dan jauh dari penyakit :
1. Mengampuni
2. Mengendalikan lidah
3. Bersahabatlah dengan orang-orang yang positif
4. Berilah makanan yang sehat ke dalam pikiran anda
5. Kehidupan berohani yang akan mengubah kehidupan anda

TIDUR DENGAN LAMPU MENYALA DAPAT MENYEBABKAN KANKER

Anak-anak yang tidur dengan lampu menyala beresiko mengidap leukemia.

Para ilmuwan menemukan bahwa tubuh perlu suasana gelap dalam menghasilkan zat kimia pelawan kanker. Bahkan ketika menyalakan lampu toilet, begadang, bepergian melintas zona waktu, lampu-lampu jalanan dapat menghentikan produksi zat melatonin.

Tubuh memerlukan zat kimia untuk mencegah kerusakan DNA dan ketiadaan zat melatonin tersebut akan menghentikan asam lemak menjadi tumor dan mencegah pertumbuhannya.

Prof. Russle Reiter dari Texas University yang memimpin penelitian tersebut mengatakan “Sekali Anda tidur dan tidak mematikan lampu selama 1 menit. Otak Anda segera mendeteksi bahwa lampu menyala seharian dan produksi zat melatonin menurun”.

Jumlah anak-anak pengidap leukimia naik menjadi dua kali lipat dalam kurun 40 tahun terakhir. Sekitar 500 anak muda dibawah 15 tahun didiagnosa menderita penyakit ini pertahun dan sekitar 100 orang meninggal.

Sebuah konferensi tentang anak penderita leukimia diadakan di London menyatakan bahwa orang menderita kanker akibat terlalu lama memakai lampu waktu tidur dimalam hari dibanding dengan yang tidak pernah memakai lampu waktu tidur.

Hal ini menekan produksi melatonin dimana normalnya terjadi antara jam 9 malam s/d jam 8 pagi. Penelitian terdahulu telah menunjukkan bahwa orang-orang yang paling mudah terserang adalah para pekerja shift yang memiliki resiko terkena kanker payudara.

Pada kenyataannya, Orang-orang buta tidak rentan terhadap melatonin memiliki resiko yang lebih rendah mengidap kanker. Maka para orang tua disarankan utk menggunakan bola lampu yang suram berwarna merah atau kuning jika anak-anaknya takut pada kegelapan.

Untuk mempersatukan dua manusia sebagai suami isteri, Allah telah mengatur bahwa haruslah ada ketaatan dan kasih dalam rumah tangga mereka. Dia tidak meminta suami atau isteri mencari kesalahan masing-masing. Dia tidak menetapkan suami-suami untuk menjadi instruktur isteri-isteri, atau isteri-isteri untuk menjadi guru suami mereka. Seorang suami tidak perlu mengubah isterinya, demikian juga halnya dengan isteri. Bagaimanapun sifat dan keadaan pasangan hidupmu, hendaklah kau mengharap hidup dengannya selamanya. Mereka masing-masing harus belajar menutup mata akan kekurangan masing-masing. Mereka harus belajar mencintai, bukan mencoba mencari kesalahan masing-masing.

Sebagai orang Kristen kita harus belajar menyangkal diri. Menyangkal diri berarti melengkapi seorang terhadap yang lain. Keluarga butuh disiplin, berarti harus belajar mau menyisihkan pendapatnya sendiri dalam memberikan pertimbangan pasangan hidupnya. Pengajaran yang lemah lembut harus ada di lidah para isteri, baik terhadap anak-anaknya, maupun terhadap suami atau sesamanya.

Demikian pula sebagai mempelai Kristus, harus taat dan hidup setia kepada mempelai laki-laki, yaitu Kristus Yesus, tanpa mempedulikan keadaan dan situasi kita. Kita harus mempersembahkan kehidupan kita seutuhnya kepada Kristus, dan tidak hidup separuh buat ilah-ilah lain. Kata Tuhan, “Berpegangkah pada perintahKu, dan engkau akan hidup; simpanlah ajaranku seperti biji matamu” (Amsal 7:2)

Isteri yang cakap lebih berharga dari pada permata.

Trik ini berlaku apabila anda hobi utak-atik partisi, install sistem Windows, Linux..tapi tiba-tiba kecelakaan terjadi, partisi di hardisk anda hilang!! mungkin anda terlalu ceroboh, tidak hati-hati menggunakan program fdisk atau cfdisk. Kalau ini memang terjadi, tidak perlu panik, tarik nafas yang dalam. INGAT!!Apabila partisi anda hilang, dan didalamnya berisi data-data penting, jangan terburu-buru melakukan aksi format ulang!apalagi ‘deep format’!sama sekali tidak saya sarankan. Partisi memang baru, tapi yang jelas data-data penting hilang tidak berbekas. Kalau datanya hanya lagu-lagu atau pilem doang gak papa, tapi gimana kalau data skripsi, tugas akhir, paper yang harus dikumpulin besok, foto pacar, foto selingkuhan, foto pacarnya temen (hehe..becanda..) yang hilang, pasti bikin pusing bin stress.. Sebelum melakukan aksi brutal Format ulang, saya sangat menyarankan melakukan recovery partisi atau recovery data. Banyak software-software recovery gratis yang dapat digunakan. Salah satunya Test Disk 4.5 (http://www.cgsecurity.org), buatan mas Cristopher Grenier. Cara menggunakan Test Disk 4.5; 1. Download softwarenya di situs http://www.cgsecurity.org 2. Kalau malas download, silahkan hubungi penulis 3. Software tersebut bersifat bootable, simpan di Floppy, hari geneee pake Floppy?!! kalau ngga’ silahkan di bakar dalam bentuk CD-bootable, atau simpan di USB-stick agar bisa booting melalui USB-stick anda 4. Tampilan program adalah text-based, jadi jangan pernah berharap menggunakan mouse! 5. Setelah booting, pada layar ada pilihan harddisk yang akan kita recover (partisinya di balikin) 6. Pilih dan tekan enter [Analyse] 8. Selanjutnya pilih menu [Search], lalu enter 9. Program akan mencari partisi yang hilang 10.Whulaa! partisi yang hilang pasti akan muncul kembali 11.Tekan enter 12.Selanjutnya pilih opsi [Write] 13.Muncul konfirmasi [Y/N] 14.Ketik Y 15.Quit 16.Berdoa Selesai berdoa, silahkan booting ulang komputer anda, silahkan masuk ke sistem (Linux or Windows). Kalau anda beruntung, saya yakin partisi yang hilang, beserta data-datanya akan muncul kembali. Kalau belum muncul juga, lakukan [deep searh] pada langkah ke-8. Trik ini berlaku apabila anda hobi utak-atik partisi, install sistem Windows, Linux..tapi tiba-tiba kecelakaan terjadi, partisi di hardisk anda hilang!! mungkin anda terlalu ceroboh, tidak hati-hati menggunakan program fdisk atau cfdisk.
Kalau ini memang terjadi, tidak perlu panik, tarik nafas yang dalam. INGAT!!Apabila partisi anda hilang, dan didalamnya berisi data-data penting, jangan terburu-buru melakukan aksi format ulang!apalagi ‘deep format’!sama sekali tidak saya sarankan. Partisi memang baru, tapi yang jelas data-data penting hilang tidak berbekas.
Kalau datanya hanya lagu-lagu atau pilem doang gak papa, tapi gimana kalau data skripsi, tugas akhir, paper yang harus dikumpulin besok, foto pacar, foto selingkuhan, foto pacarnya temen (hehe..becanda..) yang hilang, pasti bikin pusing bin stress..

Sebelum melakukan aksi brutal Format ulang, saya sangat menyarankan melakukan recovery partisi atau recovery data.
Banyak software-software recovery gratis yang dapat digunakan. Salah satunya Test Disk 4.5 (http://www.cgsecurity.org), buatan mas Cristopher Grenier.
Cara menggunakan Test Disk 4.5;
1. Download softwarenya di situs http://www.cgsecurity.org
2. Kalau malas download, silahkan hubungi penulis
3. Software tersebut bersifat bootable, simpan di Floppy, hari geneee pake Floppy?!! kalau ngga’ silahkan di bakar dalam bentuk CD-bootable, atau simpan di USB-stick agar bisa booting melalui USB-stick anda
4. Tampilan program adalah text-based, jadi jangan pernah berharap menggunakan mouse!
5. Setelah booting, pada layar ada pilihan harddisk yang akan kita recover (partisinya di balikin)
6. Pilih dan tekan enter [Analyse]
8. Selanjutnya pilih menu [Search], lalu enter
9. Program akan mencari partisi yang hilang
10.Whulaa! partisi yang hilang pasti akan muncul kembali
11.Tekan enter
12.Selanjutnya pilih opsi [Write]
13.Muncul konfirmasi [Y/N]
14.Ketik Y
15.Quit
16.Berdoa
Selesai berdoa, silahkan booting ulang komputer anda, silahkan masuk ke sistem (Linux or Windows). Kalau anda beruntung, saya yakin partisi yang hilang, beserta data-datanya akan muncul kembali. Kalau belum muncul juga, lakukan [deep searh] pada langkah ke-8.

Biasakanlah menulis!” merupakan sebuah nasihat yang kerap kita dengar. Kegiatan mencatat atau menulis, kelihatannya sepele. Itu pelajaran yang sudah kita dapat sejak Sekolah Dasar. Namun, jangan diremehkan. Tulisan menyumbangkan perubahan sangat besar dalam diri dan kehidupan manusia—itu memberi perbedaan amat besar. Bayangkan jika Anda buta huruf pada zaman secanggih ini. Apa istimewanya kegiatan menulis? Yosua tahu persis bahwa itu menolong orang untuk berubah. Dibanding di masa kepemimpinan Musa, nyatanya kehidupan bangsa Israel di masa kepemimpinan Yosua sungguh berbeda. Tadinya mengembara di gurun, sekarang menduduki tanah Kanaan. Akan tetapi, rupanya bangsa itu enggan mengubah cara hidupnya sesuai dengan kenyataan. “Berapa lama lagi kamu bermalas-malas ...?” (ayat 3). Mereka malas berubah. Demi mendorong mereka berubah, Yosua menggunakan kiat “mencatat”. Mencermati, mengukur, menulis daftar, dan melaporkan. Pokoknya catat, catat, dan catat. Dunia baca-tulis mengubah wajah dunia. Allah memberikan hukum tertulis di Sinai. Para Rasul dalam Perjanjian Baru membina jemaat melalui saurat-surat tertulis, yang kemudian dibacakan dalam pertemuan-pertemuan jemaat. Reformasi gereja diiringi oleh penerjemahan Alkitab. Buku mendidik dan mengubah cara pandang orang. Banyak tokoh besar punya kebiasaan menulis buku harian. Tulisan menanamkan pengaruhnya ke mana-mana. Apalagi di era informasi ini. Minat dan kebiasaan baca-tulis sangat baik ditumbuhkembangkan. Termasuk bergaul dengan firman Tuhan lewat waktu teduh seperti saat ini. Kerap membaca-menulis pasti mengubah sesuatu di diri kita. Tinggal apa yang kita baca dan seberapa sering?
